In the footsteps of the pioneers! We used plant models (rice) to study both G-quadruplex-DNA (G4-DNA) and C-quadruplex-DNA, also known as i-motifs (iMs) with Wenli Zhang et al. (Nanjing Agricultural University, China). To this end, we developed two genome-wide mapping techniques referred to as BG4-IP-seq and iM-IP-seq, respectively, and provided unbiased demonstrations of the regulatory roles of G4 and iMs and of the intimate relationship between G4/iM genetics and epigenetics. Happy to publish these results in one of the most prestigious journals of the nucleic acids field, Nucleic Acids Res. (IF = 16.9) and one of the oldest and most well-respected journals in the field of plant biology, Plant Physiology (IF = 8.9).
